This SMS Compliance Statement explains how Lawzuit uses text messaging (SMS/MMS) to communicate with users and our compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA guidelines.

CONSENT TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES

By providing your mobile phone number to Lawzuit and opting in to receive text messages, you expressly consent to receive automated and non-automated text messages from us at the phone number you provided.

What You're Consenting To:

  • Receiving text messages related to your case, account, and services
  • Messages sent via automated technology or autodialer
  • Messages from our third-party SMS provider (Twilio)

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can use our services without opting in to text messages, though some features may require SMS verification.

TYPES OF MESSAGES

We may send the following types of text messages:

TRANSACTIONAL

  • Account verification codes
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Password reset confirmations
  • Payment confirmations

SERVICE UPDATES

  • Case status updates
  • Court date reminders
  • Document ready notifications
  • Deadline alerts

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages unless you explicitly opt in to receive them.

MESSAGE FREQUENCY

Message frequency varies depending on your use of our services:

  • Verification messages: As needed for account security (typically 1-2 messages per session)
  • Case updates: Varies based on case activity (typically 1-5 messages per active case)
  • Reminders: 1-3 messages for upcoming deadlines or court dates

Important:

Some transactional messages (like MFA codes) cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active account with SMS verification enabled.

HOW TO OPT OUT (STOP)

You can stop receiving text messages at any time by:

Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from us.

You will receive one final confirmation message, then no further messages will be sent (except as required by law or for critical account security).

Note: Opting out may affect your ability to use certain features that require SMS verification.

  • Update SMS preferences in your account settings
  • Email support@lawzuit.com with your phone number and "STOP SMS" in the subject line

While Lawzuit does not charge for text messages, your mobile carrier may charge you for messages and data used. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan.

Message and data rates vary by carrier and plan. We are not responsible for carrier charges.

  • Sprint
  • Boost Mobile
  • Cricket
  • Metro PCS
  • Virgin Mobile

And most other U.S. carriers. Availability may vary. Contact your carrier if you experience issues receiving messages.

CARRIER DISCLAIMERS

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

  • Delivery times may vary based on carrier, network conditions, and device
  • Some carriers may filter or block automated messages
  • Messages may not be delivered if your device is off, out of range, or has insufficient storage
  • We are not responsible for carrier-related delivery failures

PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

Your phone number and message content are subject to our Privacy Policy.

We use Twilio as our SMS service provider. By opting in to receive text messages, you consent to Twilio processing your phone number and message data. Twilio's privacy policy can be found at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

TCPA COMPLIANCE

Lawzuit complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and FCC regulations governing automated text messages:

  • We obtain express written consent before sending automated messages
  • We provide clear opt-out instructions in every message or upon request
  • We honor opt-out requests within 10 business days
  • We maintain records of consent and opt-outs
  • We do not share or sell phone numbers for third-party marketing
