REFUND POLICY

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which Lawzuit may provide refunds for our document preparation services. By purchasing services from Lawzuit, you agree to the terms outlined below.

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on the stage of service, work completed, and circumstances of the request. We strive to be fair and reasonable while protecting the value of work already performed.

Important:

Refunds apply only to Lawzuit's service fees. Court filing fees, service of process fees, and third-party charges are non-refundable as they are paid directly to external entities and cannot be recovered.

REFUNDS BEFORE FILING

If you request a refund before we have filed documents with the court or sent demand letters to the opposing party:

Full Refund Conditions

You may receive a full refund of our service fees if:

  • No documents have been generated or finalized
  • No work has been performed by our team
  • No third-party services have been engaged on your behalf

Partial Refund Conditions

You may receive a partial refund if:

  • Documents have been generated but not yet sent or filed
  • Preliminary work has been completed (e.g., case review, initial consultation)
  • Some but not all deliverables have been provided

The refund amount will be prorated based on the work completed and time invested.

Processing Time:

Refunds requested before filing will be processed within 7-10 business days of approval to your original payment method.

REFUNDS AFTER FILING

Once documents have been filed with the court or demand letters have been sent, refund eligibility is significantly limited:

Prorated Refunds

You may be eligible for a prorated refund for work not yet completed if:

  • You cancel services before all contracted deliverables are provided
  • Substantial work remains to be completed (e.g., post-filing support, judgment enforcement assistance)
  • You have not yet received final documents or completed the filing process

The prorated amount will reflect the percentage of work completed versus work remaining under your service agreement.

Non-Refundable After Filing

No refunds will be issued once the following have occurred:

  • Court filing fees have been paid (these go directly to the court and cannot be recovered)
  • Service of process has been completed (process server fees are non-refundable)
  • Demand letters have been sent to the opposing party
  • All contracted services have been delivered
  • Your case has proceeded to hearing or judgment

DIY PRODUCT REFUNDS

For self-service templates, guides, and digital products (if offered):

7-Day Refund Window

You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if:

  • You have not generated, downloaded, or used any documents
  • You have not accessed premium content or resources
  • The product has a defect that prevents normal use

No Refund After Use:

Once you have generated documents, downloaded templates, or accessed digital content, the product is considered used and is non-refundable. This is similar to purchasing a book—once you've read it, you cannot return it.

NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS

The following items are always non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Court filing fees: Paid directly to the court and cannot be recovered even if you dismiss your case
  • Service of process fees: Paid to process servers or the sheriff's office for serving documents
  • Third-party fees: Any costs paid to external service providers (e.g., certified mail, courier services)
  • Credit report or background check fees: Fees for pulling reports on defendants for collection purposes
  • Completed services: Work that has been fully delivered as contracted
  • Used digital products: Templates or guides that have been accessed, downloaded, or used

HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Email our support team: support@lawzuit.com
  2. Include the following information:
    • Your full name and email address associated with your account
    • Order number or case ID
    • Reason for requesting a refund
    • Date of purchase
  3. Wait for review: Our team will review your request within 2-3 business days
  4. Receive decision: We will notify you of approval or denial with an explanation
  5. Refund processing: If approved, refunds are processed within 7-10 business days to your original payment method

Important Note:

Refunds are issued to the original payment method only. We cannot issue refunds via check, wire transfer, or alternative payment methods.

CHARGEBACK POLICY

If you dispute a charge with your credit card company (chargeback) without first contacting us:

  • We will suspend your account pending resolution of the chargeback
  • We reserve the right to provide evidence of services rendered to your card issuer
  • If the chargeback is found to be fraudulent or unjustified, we may pursue collection and ban you from future use of our services
  • Chargeback fees ($15-$25) may be passed on to you if the chargeback is reversed in our favor

Please contact us first before filing a chargeback. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly. Most issues can be resolved through direct communication without involving your card issuer.

EXCEPTIONS AND SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

We may make exceptions to this refund policy in the following circumstances:

  • Service errors: If we made a material error in document preparation that cannot be corrected
  • Technical failures: If our platform failed to deliver services due to technical issues on our end
  • Misrepresentation: If we materially misrepresented our services or capabilities
  • Legal compliance: As required by applicable consumer protection laws

Exceptions are granted at our sole discretion and do not set precedent for future requests.
